WHY IS THE WRISTBAND SO EXPENSIVE?

The sticker shock is real, and we’re extremely sorry about it.

Over $100 of your wristband cost goes straight to our hosts at Camp Ramblewood to cover our usage of the venue (per-attendee, not a a flat rental fee). The remaining amount ($100ish, depending on when you buy) goes directly towards our programming costs, e.g. performer appearance fees, housing, and food; A/V equipment rental; supplies for activities like the bonfire, tie-dye, and craft tent; event infrastructure like generators, golf carts, fuel, and a truck; and small perks for our volunteers like hats and snacks. We love making video game music events for our community, and the purpose of MAGStock is not to make money – any budget surplus allows us to expand our future offerings as well as support other MAGFest events and initiatives. (Remember, we’re a non-profit!)

CAN I BUY A ONE DAY WRISTBAND?

MAGStock only sells full event wristbands, both online and at the door. However, prices for wristbands purchased at the door are discounted as the event proceeds, so you don’t have to pay for a day that’s already passed! The prices are below and the wristband will last from the day of purchase until the end of the event.

At-door wristbands start at $220 on Thursday, and are prorated to $190 on Friday and $160 on Saturday.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

Our standard policy is that wristbands are non-refundable; however, you may be able to resell yours using the “resell” button on your registration confirmation link. You may also find a friend/acquaintance to purchase it for the price you paid for it or less–contact us at registration@magstock.org to arrange a transfer this way.

If you need to transfer your cabin, please email us so we can send you the link needed. Cabins are transferrable but non-refundable.

Please also note that pre-ordered merch packages are fully non-refundable. If you cannot make it to the event, or forget to pick your merch up, we will contact you afterwards to obtain a shipping address and shipping payment, or you may choose to donate the cost of your package to MAGStock (thank you!).

HOW DO I SELL OR TRANSFER MY WRISTBAND?

To transfer your wristband to another person: open your confirmation email and send them the personalized link referenced in the last paragraph. Please note: You may resell your wristband for no more than the exact price you paid for it.

Warning: once your wristband has been transferred, you will lose all access to it and it cannot be transferred back to you or refunded. Additionally, if you pre-ordered a merch package with your wristband, that will also be transferred when your wristband is transferred.

Once picked up at Registration, a wristband cannot be transferred to another individual. Additionally, a minor wristband cannot be transferred to a regular attendee wristband at any time.

I AM UNABLE TO FIND MY CONFIRMATION EMAIL. CAN IT BE RESENT?

Please visit our registration confirmation page and enter the email you registered with to check if you are pre-registered. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please contact us at registration@magstock.org.

I CAN ONLY PURCHASE THE INITIAL WRISTBAND AT THIS TIME. WILL I BE ABLE TO ADD AN ADD-ON AT A LATER DATE?

Sure! If you look at your registration confirmation email, you will find a personalized link that will allow you to edit your details and make any add-on purchases, such as car/RV camping passes, cabins, food/drink wristbands, or merch packs. Please note that you’ll have to pay for the add-on once you add it–if you don’t, the pending purchase may be cleared from our system to enable others to buy it. You will also not be able to pick up your wristband onsite until you pay. Pre-ordered merch packs and cabins are available in limited quantities—there is no date cutoff, but once they’re gone, they’re gone!

I APPLIED FOR VENDOR SPACE IN THE MAGSTOCK ARTIST ALLEY. SHOULD I PURCHASE A BACK-UP WRISTBAND JUST IN CASE MY APPLICATION IS NOT APPROVED?

There’s no need! If your artist alley application is not approved, you will be able to purchase a wristband at the original pre-registration price–contact us at registration@magstock.org to purchase. If your application IS approved, we will send you additional information!

HOW MUCH ARE WRISTBANDS FOR CHILDREN? DO THEY NEED TO BE REGISTERED?

All attendees, including minors, need to be registered and have their own individual wristbands. Children 6 through 12 get 50% off the current wristband price, rounded down to the nearest dollar. Children 5 and under are free. Be sure to select the ‘12 and Under’ button when you pre-register to get the discount. If your child is 5 or under, the system will mark the wristband as free prior to the order being finalized. Please be sure to review our full rules for minor attendance at MAGStock on our Rules page!

DOES MAGSTOCK OFFER A GROUP DISCOUNT?

Yes! During pre-registration, groups of 5 or more can buy wristbands at a $10 discount off the current wristband price. A group leader purchases all wristbands for the group. After payment, the leader will receive what are essentially pre-paid promo codes for each wristband purchased, which they should then send to group members individually so they can register their own wristbands. Please make every effort to claim group wristbands before arriving at the event–it will make everyone’s experience faster!

Children aged 6 through 12 already receive a 50% discount on their wristband price, and children 5 and under are already free, so they unfortunately cannot count towards the 5+ wristbands to receive the group price and must be purchased separately.

WHEN CAN I PICK UP/PURCHASE A WRISTBAND AT MAGSTOCK? WHAT ARE THE HOURS FOR REGISTRATION?

MAGStock is a 24 hour festival, but registration is not. Please do NOT show up outside of the following hours, as we will not be able to permit you to enter the event without checking you in:

  • Thursday: noon-midnight
  • Friday: 10am-10pm
  • Saturday: 10am-10pm

We encourage attendees to purchase their wristbands online prior to coming to registration in order to keep the line moving (and because cell service and WiFi can be spotty at the venue).

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO PICK UP MY WRISTBAND?

Anyone picking up a wristband needs a government issued photo ID that matches both the name of the wristband being picked up and your date of birth. Please ensure that you enter your legal name as shown on your ID in the Name on ID field when you pre-register for your wristband. If you used another name, you can email registration@magstock.org or use the personalized link in your confirmation email to update the information associated with your wristband.

On rare occasions we will accept a photo ID without a date of birth such as a high school or college ID. Please note, we do reserve the right to refuse these IDs and anyone using a high school photo ID will also need to bring a signed parental consent form, which must be notarized if they are not accompanied by a legal guardian, regardless of age.

If you’ve changed your name but not yet updated your photo ID, you need to provide proof of the name change (e.g. a certified copy of a marriage license or a certified copy of the decree (court order)). If you don’t have the documents from your name change process, your county clerk’s office should be able to help you get a copy. Please email registration@magstock.org after you purchase your wristband, so we can add a note to let our on-site registration staff know to ask for this documentation.

We understand that people under 18 often do not have a government-issued photo ID, so a signed parental consent form, which must be notarized if they are not accompanied by a legal guardian, will suffice for minors. For all other cases, please notify us ahead of time at registration@magstock.org to make arrangements – this makes it much easier for us to accommodate you. If you do not make arrangements with us beforehand and do not have a photo ID, then we will do our best, but cannot guarantee that you will be able to pick up your wristband.

I BOUGHT MORE THAN ONE WRISTBAND IN MY NAME. WILL MULTIPLE WRISTBANDS BE A PROBLEM? CAN I PICK UP A WRISTBAND FOR ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL?

Yes. MAGStock has a one wristband per person policy, so you will only be able to pick up one wristband for yourself. If you are buying a wristband for another individual, we ask that you put that individual’s information into the registration form. This will allow a faster pickup process in the preregistration line, since otherwise we will have to add the extra information manually before they can be handed out. You may also use the personalized link in your registration confirmation email to update the information on your wristbands.

If you are buying the wristband as a surprise, we still ask that you use the individual’s information when purchasing the wristband, but make sure to use your email address so they don’t get the confirmation email.

Each wristband must be picked up by the specific individual whose name the wristband is under and they must have a government-issued photo ID to claim it. You may not bring their photo ID to pick up the wristband. Legal guardians may hold the wristband for their child, but we ask that the child be present when the wristband is received.

I REQUIRE SPECIAL ACCESSIBILITY ASSISTANCE / HAVE A MEDICAL REASON THAT PREVENTS ME FROM WAITING IN LINE FOR MY WRISTBAND. WILL THIS BE ACCOMMODATED?

Yes! Just let one of our staff know and we can escort you to the front of the line or provide seating until we are able to check you in. If you have other accessibility needs or questions, please email accessibility@magstock.org.

DO I HAVE TO WEAR MY WRISTBAND THE WHOLE TIME?

Yes, your wristband is what gives you access to the campgrounds and prove you have purchased entry into MAGStock. You cannot give your wristband to someone who hasn’t bought one. If you are found without a wristband you will be escorted to Registration. If you tell the staff it’s in your tent, they’ll support you in getting back to your tent to retrieve it. We must know who is on site at all times in the event of an emergency.

WHEN CAN I SET UP MY CAMPSITE?

Vehicles are only permitted on the grounds during specific times: load-in (Thursday from 12pm until 5pm) and load-out (Sunday from 9am until 2pm), unless it is raining or muddy, in which case vehicles are not permitted on the grass at all. If you arrive/leave outside these times, or if it is raining/muddy, you will need to bring your gear to your campsite on foot or with limited support from our golf carts. For first time campers, we recommend you do a practice run of setting up your tent before getting to Stock. Please view our full rules for more information.

IS THERE A LOST AND FOUND?

Yes! Visit Public Safety/Security in Cabin 5/6 to drop off or look for any lost items.

WHAT IF I FORGET SOME BASIC SUPPLIES?

Stock up on essentials at our convenient on-site camp store located at our Merch window in the Canteen! We carry sunscreen to keep you protected, bug repellent for comfortable outdoor adventures, and a selection of snacks to fuel your day, including S’MORES.

I HAVE A DISABILITY OR MEDICAL NEEDS. IS CAMP RAMBLEWOOD ACCESSIBLE?

There are paved paths around the campground, but some activities can only be reached by a gravel path or by crossing the grass. Storage for medications that need to be refrigerated is available in the Public Safety (Medical/First Aid) cabin (Cabin 5). There are individual beds available in an accessible cabin, which has a ramp, ADA-compliant shower, and air conditioning. The per-bed rate is $90 (for the entire length of the event). All cabins have standard electrical outlets, and outdoor camping has some power available at set points (see the map for details). If you are unable to stand in line for popular activities (such as tie-dye), ask a staffer in an orange MAGStock hat for accommodations. To request a bed in the cabin or if you have any other questions about accommodations and accessibility, send an email to accessibility@magstock.org.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

MAGStock policy is that clothing has to be worn (Yes, even though Camp Ramblewood is a clothing-optional venue). Our dress code is “pool attire”, which means the minimum is e.g. bikini bottom coverage. (Anyone can be topless, regardless of anatomy, but please keep your genitals covered).

ARE THERE BUGS? BEES? WASPS?

We’re outdoors camping – there will be bugs, sorry. Mostly earwigs.

There are bees around, but wasp-wise what you are most likely to see at Ramblewood are Mud Daubers. They are generally non-aggressive, and are actually good to have around (they eat mosquitos!) If you’re worried about wasps, try the paper bag trick. Take a paper bag, and stick it around the corners of your cabin deck or in your tent area. Wasps are territorial and will think your paper bag is a wasp nest and not stick around. Take that, wasps!

CAN I CAMP IN A LARGE VEHICLE (CAR, VAN, RV, CAMPER, ETC)?

You sure can! However, car/RV camping is restricted to a specific area of the grounds, so be sure to purchase a separate pass when you register. Please note that Ramblewood DOES NOT have power/sewer hookups for RVs. More information is available on our Camping & Cabin Info page.

I WANT TO RUN A COOL CAMP ACTIVITY FOR THE COMMUNITY! CAN I DO THAT?

Yes! We would love this! Fill out the activity submission form or contact our activities team at activities@magstock.org.

There will also be a community bulletin board where you can advertise camper-organized activities and events, including parties at your campsite/cabin.

HOW DO WE PLAY GAMES AT A CAMPGROUND? IS THERE GOING TO BE ANY POWER?

The cabins have power, and you are welcome to run extension cords to nearby tents. Please be mindful of physics and do not overload things – you can run LED lights and charge your phone just fine, but leave your AC and microwave at home. We are planning to provide at least one power station near the Horseshoe with a generator, extension cords, and power strips, but it doesn’t hurt to bring your own extension cords & power strips just in case. Don’t go too wild and take up all the ports. Please do not bring your own generator unless you are staying in the car camping or RV lot.

HOW DO I FEED MYSELF? IS FOOD FOR SALE? CAN I BRING A MICROWAVE? ORDER DELIVERY? SELL FOOD TO OTHERS?

The Ramblewood dining hall offers hot meals – you can pre-purchase a food meal plan for all six meals on the Registration page, or you can purchase individual meals during the event — check out the meal plan here. The dining hall accommodates major dietary needs/preferences, so be sure to tell us about them when you select that add-on for your registration.

Hot water is available in the dining hall at no cost for instant meals that require it (we even sell some at our camp store!)

Microwaves are not allowed in cabins or tent camping areas.

Bring a camp stove or portable fire pit and cook your own food, use our communal grill near the horseshoe cabins, barter with your neighbors, or go into town. Unauthorized sales are not allowed on-site.

If you are planning to cook, check out the MAGStock Community Cookbook, which is full of awesome recipes contributed by our Staff, Volunteers, and Guests!

If you order delivery (DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc), please instruct the driver to drop off your food at the Registration area, and wait there to pick it up. Our staffers are not responsible for your delivery.

IS THERE CELL SERVICE/WIFI?

Yes! Phone service is actually pretty good in most areas of the campground. Ramblewood now offers wifi for a fee, though it may also be spotty. Consider bringing a mobile hotspot if you really can’t live without internet for the weekend.

ARE THERE SHOWERS AND RUNNING WATER?

Yes! There are plenty of modern restrooms and showers, including shared bathroom/shower facilities for tent campers in the Horseshoe. Please don’t use swimming as a substitute for showering.

CAN WE SWIM IN THE LAKE?

No. The lake is home to a snapping turtle, who is adorable, but also bites. Respect your elders – swim only in the swimming pool. Boating is allowed on the lake during daytime hours and at your own risk.

CAN I SELL STUFF TO OTHER CAMPERS?

Unauthorized sales are strictly prohibited – in the spirit of MAGStock, you are welcome to give away food, drinks, trinkets, etc. Watch our social media for the Artist Alley application if you’re interested in selling at MAGStock in the future!

IS ALCOHOL PERMITTED?

Yes, alcohol consumption is allowed at the campground. Alcohol sales are not permitted onsite. Enjoy responsibly! (please, for real, be cool.) Keep in mind that it is a lot easier to get dehydrated while outdoors. All laws continue to apply. Additionally, glass containers are not permitted to be carried around the campground. Please transfer beverages to shatter-proof cups/containers and place glass into a recycling bin. No alcohol is allowed in the pool area.

HELP! I NEED AN ADULT!

MAGStock Staff wear orange hats and are happy to help you! If you or anyone else needs medical assistance or attention, please head to Cabin 5/6. If you can’t make it to the cabin, call or text Security at 1-833-FEST-SEC. MAGBuddies are contacted as needed. More info on Security and Safety here!

I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION.
