The Range is located at the bottom of the main hill, between the pool and the amphitheater. This year the Range will be open on Thursday 4p to 7p and then from 11a to 5p Friday and Saturday, except in the case of rain. No experience needed, we will show you what to do! Experienced people are also welcome, but please use our equipment and ammo.
Bonus level: Ask about our minigames (with prizes) available for both halves of the Range.
The Equipment
- Handheld slingshots: multiple types including with wrist bracing, biodegradable clay ammo
- Traditional bows: 28” draw, 20# and 30#
- Safety goggles, arm guards, finger tabs (left and right), and archery gloves.
- You may not use your own projectiles, but you are welcome to use your own preferred safety equipment
Range Rules
For the safety of yourself and others, please read and follow the Range Rules at all times. The Rangemasters reserve the right to deny anyone participation who poses a danger.
- The Range is only open when a trained Rangemaster is present.
- Always point at the ground if not actively shooting a target. Never point in any direction that might cause a projectile to hit another being.
- Shooting is only permitted from the firing line when told “Range is Hot” by the Rangemaster. Aim at the approved targets/backstop.
- When a “Cease Fire” is called, all shooting must stop. Unload your bow or slingshot.
- Do not cross the firing line until given permission by the Rangemaster.
- Do not enter the Range from any point except the firing line.
- Never pull and release a bowstring without an arrow loaded. This is called a dry fire and can shatter the bow.
- The Rangemaster reserves the right to deny participation to those not following the Range Rules.
