Contest rules (may be updated for 2026, TBD):
- Goal – Fly your airplane through the hoop from the furthest distance!
- The first line is 10 feet from the target. Each following line is 5 feet from the previous line.
- Start at the first line. You have 3 tries to get it through the hoop. If you make it through the hoop, step back to the next line and try again. You will get marked at the furthest distance your plane is successful.
The contest will have 2 classes: Single Sheet and Freestyle!
Single Sheet – Contest at [TBA]
Plane construction for single-sheet can start 15 minutes before the contest start time!
- Each plane must be made of a single sheet of folded plain copy paper.
- No glue, adhesive, or any other attachments are allowed.
- All planes must have a name.
- Each plane MUST have surfaces that provide lift.
- Contestants may only make an attempt with 1 plane at a time. After an attempt, they must move to the back of the line before the next plane.
- Contestants are allowed to enter any number of planes.
- Construction time will end 45 minutes after the start of the contest.
Freestyle – Contest at [TBA]
Planes for the freestyle contest can be built any time after you arrive at MAGStock!
Plane can be made of as much paper as you need. The structure of the airplane must be primarily copy paper. Adhesives are allowed. Weights are allowed.
Contestants may submit ONE plane. Construction of the plane MUST be complete when the contest starts. After the first contest attempt, contestants may modify their plane once before taking a second attempt.
